How to get there
The new Shine On site site is located near the township of Lexton in western Victoria. It is an easy 1 hr 45 min drive from central Melbourne.
We recommend that you camp onsite during the event, however for those not wanting to camp under the stars (and get the true festival experience!), the closet available accommodation is located in the towns of Avoca (15mins), Beaufort (20mins) or Ballarat (35 mins).
Directions
From Melbourne: Take the Western Hwy (A8) towards Ballarat. Approx 6kms past Ballarat take the exit to the Sunraysia Hwy (B220) towards Avoca. At Lexton turn right onto the Lexton-Talbot Road towards Tablot. Travel approx 3kms and turn left into Leys Road then follow the signs!
Please note, once you get on the Western Highway (A8), you don't go through any large towns. Lexton is a very small town with only a general store and a pub. If you are wanting to stock up on supplies continue along the Western Highway to the town of Beaufort, which has a supermarket, bottle shop, pharmacy, bank, post office etc. Then take the Beaufort-Lexton Road north to Lexton. This detour only adds about 20mins.

Shuttle Bus with.....
UPDATE - SHUTTLES TO THE FESTIVAL ARE FULL OR FILLING FAST.
Its under 90 mins from Southen Cross Station (Melbourne) to Ballarat, and around 30 mins to the site.
Shuttle tickets are only $10 each way, but you MUST request a spot by emailing transport [at] soundeventgroup [dot] com. A request does not guarantee a spot, please look out for the confirmation reply.
We'd also recommend you reserve a train ticket!
The shuttle will be leaving Ballarat Station at the following times:
Friday 3.45pm (meeting the 2.07 pm train leaving Melbourne) - ALMOST FULL!
Friday 7.00pm (meeting the 5.44 pm train leaving Melbourne) - FULL
Saturday 12.15pm (meeting the 10.28 am training leaving Melbourne) - FULL
It will then be heading back to Ballarat, leaving the festival site at:
Sunday 5pm (to arrive in time for the 6.06pm train leaving for Melbourne) - 3 SEATS LEFT!!
Monday 10am (to arrive in time 11.11am train leaving for Melbourne) !
